String of Hearts is a community arts organisation which connects older adults through music, to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing in later life. Through group sessions, music phone calls, home visits and showcase events, we shine a light on the talents and skills of older residents and remove barriers to accessing creative activities for people who are isolated and living with long-term conditions. Established in 2019, String of Hearts has been featured in national press and received awards for promotion of health & wellbeing for older adults in our community.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Contract: Freelance role averaging 10 hours per week, specific dates/times to be agreed.
Period: June to September 2025, with potential for extension until December 2025.
Rate: £20 per hour, paid on receipt of invoice at end of calendar month.
Locations: Home working, community venues and participant homes in Trafford and Manchester
ABOUT THE PROJECT
String of Hearts Home Visits project connects older adults who are housebound with local musicians, building intergenerational relationships through music in the home. Home visits are shaped around participants' interests, including music-making, conversation and songwriting - fostering joy, connections and sense of purpose for residents who experience barriers to accessing creative activities in the community.
